Children's and young people's emotional wellbeing services

Proposal:

To change the way local emotional health and wellbeing services provide their support to children and young people, working with local health services, Warrington Borough Council, voluntary organisations and primary and secondary schools.

Outcome:

Based on feedback from this review, the provider of children’s and young people’s mental health, North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, alongside the other partner organisations, has been commissioned to create a co designed service reflecting the comments from the large engagement project.

First phase of the new service is now live, this work, called ‘Getting Advice’ includes:

  • Commissioned informal drop in sessions for young people at the Youth Café
  • Worked with local high schools to train teachers on how to look after pupil’s emotional wellness

We’re working on launching the next phases that looked at ‘Getting Help’, ‘Getting More Help’ and ‘Getting Risk Support’
