Emergency Dental Service

To access emergency dental treatment call the emergency helpline, 0161 476 9651, available from 9am to 9.30pm every day, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

NHS emergency dental clinics in Warrington are provided by Revive Dental Care according to strict clinical criteria. When you call you’ll be assessed by a member of their clinical team to make sure your problem comes under either

  • Trauma - this is usually caused by a blow to the face, a lost filling is not classed as trauma
  • Swelling of the face
  • Bleeding - uncontrolled, such as after an extraction
  • Pain that can’t be controlled by pain relief medicines

Patients needing emergency treatment and who are registered with a general dental practitioner should contact their dental practice and follow the advice given on the answer phone.

Outside working hours, patients who have an emergency following trauma to their teeth or jaws, uncontrolled bleeding, or if their breathing is restricted because of swelling, should got to A&E.

Things to be aware of:

  • This is a service for emergency dental treatment only

  • Routine dental care is not available

  • Clinic times vary, and at busy times or when your local clinic’s not available, you may be offered an appointment at an alternative location

  • Normal NHS dental charges will apply
